Meals and Food

The yeshiva is proud of its commitment to a healthy life style. Breakfast is self-serve. After attending a kashrut orientation students have free use of kitchen. Lunches and dinners are generally simple, healthy, vegetarian, yet ample meals consisting of soup, pasta, grains, vegetables, and the like. The main course for Shabbat meals is meat (vegetarians accommodated). Students with special dietary needs are encouraged to inform us ahead of time – we’re happy to try to accommodate. Students wishing to prepare food of their own can purchase ingredients at the local market and make arrangement to use the kitchen at certain times. Students have access to a refrigerator and cabinets in which they may store their food.
Exercise
There are attractive grounds around the Yeshiva and ample trails to jog or bike on. There is a bow-flex machine available for student use. Many students take advantage of the local outdoor basketball court to play soccer, basketball, or ultimate frisbee. Some students make use of the swimming pool and fitness room in nearby Alon Shevut.
Shabbat Hospitality
About one Shabbat each month is an "in Shabbat", where students, faculty, and friends celebrate Shabbat in the Yeshiva. During the other Shabbats - "out Shabbats" the yeshiva provides a list of suggested hosts in the area - including faculty, families learning in the yeshiva, alumni, neighbors, and friends of the Yeshiva. Through these meetings, students share in a wide variety of experiences with families of many different backgrounds.
Phone
There is a phone available in the Hadar Ochel (dinning hall) for incoming calls and outgoing calls that use a calling card. Phone cards can be purchased at any post office in Israel. Additionally, many students have cell phones, or use Skype. Students can purchase a phone line for their private rooms. For short stays in Israel, cell phones can be rented.
Laundry
A laundry machine and dryer is available to all single students on campus. So that students do not have to fuss with carrying around change, students mark a tally sheet as they go and pay the end of the semester for the use of the machine.
