Earth Torah

It's a Sabbatical year, and while we're not busy tending the gardens of the Yeshiva, our eyes are very much on the land.

Learn about the depth of the Sabbatical year from Rav Kook's Introduction to Shabbat HaAretz, or learn about what the Sabbatical year means for those living in Israel, in theory, and in practice.

Take a look at the land with Breslov eyes in Rav Natan Greenberg's series Judaism and the Environment.

Keep your eyes on a new project from Canfei Nesharim and Bat Ayin student Jonathan Neril - The Eitz Chayim Hee Torah Commentary for Environmental Learning and Action. New articles are up every week, and collected here.

Elul Zman Begins August 15th

The Elul session at Bat Ayin begins on August 15th. We're continuing our tradition of serious learning that is both deeply connected to God and open to the world at large. This zman is going to feature a change in the way we learn penimiyut (the inner teachings of Torah.) Rather than have a different penimiyut class each day, we're going to have three separate tracks. Each person will choose one track, and continue with it throughout the zman. We anticipate that everybody will get a rich, deep exposure to the inner Torah that will have a profound impact on their life. The tracks will be led by Rav Daniel Kohn (working with Chabad Chassidut), Rav Zvi Leshem (working with Piasetzna Chassidut), and Rav Raz Hartman (working with Breslov Chassidut.)

Who is the one praying, anyway?

Check out this Jewel from the summer session, presented by our summer scholar in residence, Rav Dr. Meir Sendor.

In the course of the exploration of Ein Od Milvado, Rav Sendor turns his attention to the first line of the Amidah 'God open my lips...'. Weaving together sources from halacha, philosophy, and kabbalah, he comes to a radical reinterpretation of the nature of prayer, that carries profound personal and experiential impact. Don't miss it!

Jewish Spiritual Audio

Some of the best classes from the yeshiva are online as MP3s. For the present time, Rav Natan Greenberg explorers the spiritual dimension of the mourning of the three weeks. If you're looking to the future, Rav Kalman Neuman delves into Rav Kook's introduction to the Sabbatical Year (Shmittah). If you're still in a Shavuot mode, check out the Rosh Yeshiva's classes on the secrets of Megillat Ruth.

New Website!

Welcome to the new Yeshivat Bat Ayin website. We've put in a lot of work to bring together all of the resources coming out of Bat Ayin, and we hope you enjoy the site. Some things will still be a bit rough (like the 'what's new' section will sometimes show some really old stuff that we just now happened to put up), but we felt that it was ready enough to meet the world. The collection of music created at Bat Ayin is available, many writings are online, and audio classes are being put up.
