Hashem created the world so that He could bestow His good to beings. Well, one question that may arise is: "If that's the case, then why is there so much suffering?" I have one thought on that matter (well maybe more than one but right now, one). That is, He wants us to work for it and to be "co-creators" with Him and do our part to unify the creation by choosing Him. I just asked myself, "What does it really matter if I do all this stuff anyway (mitzvot), whether I sin or not anyway?" Well I think I know why.
It matters more than anything in the entire world. Each time I sin or do something which is not what Hashem wants me to do, at the very least, I am stopping the world from moving closer to being a place in which the light of G-d flows. At that I moment in which I choose to do that act which opposed the will of G-d, I stop the light of G-d from flowing through me and out into the world. I believe that by my actions alone, I can cause great damage to the creation and prevent Hashem from making this what he intended it to be, a place where His creatures would enjoy what He wants to give us, great pleasure and joy. Each time I do something opposite the will of Hashem I am helping the creation take a step away from being a place where we can all enjoy Hashem's light.
I bless us all with the awareness of knowing what it is G-d wants from us, and the ability to actualize that into the world at every moment, thereby helping Hashem make this world into what it is He wants it to be: a place of wisdom, light, and love.
