Gathered together as one, eyes longing towards you
waiting for the light to rain down its love
upon us again.
How must we cry, how we must want it so deeply in our hearts.
Hashem you know the thoughts in the heart of man
We so deeply feel the pain of the years we've turned away from you,
but how can we last, how can we survive any longer without you.
Please look not upon the darkness rolling away behind a cloud of foolish treachery.
If it can not be a returning towards the light,
your light full of love and life,
then what have we really left to live for anyway.
And yet we find ourselves wanting, waiting, wondering what we are supposed to do.
Yes, it is because we really are still here that we know that, yes,
there is something left for us to do.
But what?
How can we know if you will not show us the way?
Show us Hashem, show us what we are to do.
Show us so clearly that our eyes open wide, our bodies stand tall
ready, alert, pulsing, thriving
upon the life of your light shining upon the way we must go.
Bodies ready to jump at your very call.
And still we wait and we have left to do is cry.
But if that is all we can truly do,
then cry we may until the final tear
fills the bucket overflowing with our sorrows
which we can suffer no more.
Take us home Hashem,
Bring us Hashem,
All of us Home,
We've Been Gone Too Long.
