"Sound the great shofar of our freedom…" we beg, petition, ask, demand this of the ONE who creates and sustains, the Source and Substance of the whole UNIverse. Three times today. In fact, this is and has been the case every "HOLi"day just as it has been for our ancestors for myriad generations before us. An engaging daily discipline.
Now we are in the midst of renewal cycle (hodesh) Elul. Now we actualize the prayer into the world of action, into the world of vibration, of sound, resonance, and manifestation (DVARim).
These waves wash over us, resounding through the narrow chambers decrying, "BE FREE! Be gathered toward your center of integrity from your dispersed wanderings", and from there may be we whole.
What is a laser? A self-refocusing beam of phase-synchronized light light waves created when intense flashlamps interact with a specially prepared synthetic crystal, a whole greater than the sum of its parts. For what can be done with a laser can not be done with a million of those flashlamps. We ask the the Holy Blessed One for that focus and intensity: for the gift of that archetypal magnification glass with which we may direct our attentions and desires.
As I delve into these words (DVARim) from the order (siddur) spoken how many times, by how many lips, in how many places, in how many worlds
Slowly these garments in which the Shechinah, the Infinite Soul of All Life, enshrouds Herself begin to yield
Revealing a little of what lies beneath the surface. One blessing leads to another.
I offer blessings to the Source of Blessing who mercifully provides mere mortal with glimpses of insight

Blessed is the ONE who seasons our lives
