Yonatan was put under anaesthesia for a minor operation. Suddenly in the midst of the procedure, he woke up. Just then he had a vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. In this vision, the Rebbe said to tell Dr. Schwartz who is operating, that if he puts on tefillin, his daughter will get better.
Dr. Schwartz noticed Yonatan was awake and asked him if he was okay. Yonatan asked him if he knew who the Lubavitcher Rebbe was. Dr. Schwartz replied that he had heard of him. Yonatan relayed the message.
After the operation, Dr. Schwartz came to Yonatan and told him that his daughter was very sick. He continued, saying that for the first time in thirty years, he prayed to G-d and said "If you exist, please give me a sign." This, said Dr. Schwartz to Yonatan, was the sign.
Dr. Schwartz started putting on tefillin and his daughter "miraculously" recovered from her illness.
