You Never Know

A chasid by the name of Shalom would go visit the Baal Shem Tov every Yom Kippur without fail. The journey to Medzhibozh was a three-day trip, but this year the wheels on his carriage broke, and there was a snow storm which delayed him a week. By the time he got to Medzhibozh, it was already Erev Yom Kippur. Just outside the Medzhibozh, in a little hamlet, nine yidden came out to the road and said, "brother we mamesh need you to be the 10th man for our minyan". Shalom responded "I`m sorry but I have to be by the Baal Shem Tov for the chag" and he was on his way. After weeks of the Baal Shem Tov ignoring Shalom , he asked him why are he was upset at with him. The Baal Shem Tov looked at Shalom and said "how many times are you going to have to come back down to this world to be the 10th man for that minyan?".
So I bless you, and please bless me back, that we should never turn down any mitzvah that comes our way, because you never know what we were put in this world for.

Shabbat shalom umevorach!
