The forthcoming Bat Ayin Journal is in some ways the fruit of the ten years that came before it. We are bringing together the best thinkers, writers, poets, and artists who have passed through Bat Ayin. From around the globe we are collaborating on bringing a new type of publication into the Jewish world.
We are creating a journal of ideas, but not just a journal of ideas. It will be home to not just perspectives and schemata, but also the fruits of those perspectives - poetry, art, alternative readings of sources, new translations, fiction, and the like. We want to affect the ways people are Jewish. This necessitates heartfulness and intelligence, and allows space for artists as well as philosophers, for passion as well as erudite articulation. The overarching theme will be one of Jewish spirituality - expressiveness of genuine relationship with G-d in one's life.
